Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) is a system used by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to determine the payment rates for outpatient services provided by hospitals and other healthcare facilities. APC groups similar services together and assigns a payment rate based on the resources required to provide those services.
